Very surprised to not see Expression Engine on this list. It's extremely customizable and has a great admin interface, for admins and users.
Good article! In my opinion a very good CMS is redaxo. Even though not very well known in the rest of the world, here in Germany it's being widely used.
Its advantages are the very open structure, that any php programmer can make use of.
It's very easy to customize for any website's needs and very performant and lightweight.

Expression Engine used to be a great alternative, but since their last release they don't even offer a demo?! Like really!
